In this course, students will explore soil and plant science; demonstrate landscape design, maintenance, and sustainability practices; investigate pest and disease management; and install, construct, and maintain landscaping projects. Students will prepare for employment and postsecondary opportunities in high-demand occupations in the landscaping industry. Contextual instruction and student participation in co-curricular career and technical student organization (CTSO) activities will develop leadership, interpersonal, and career skills. High-quality work-based learning (HQWBL) will provide experiential learning opportunities related to students' career goals and/or interests, integrated with instruction, and performed in partnership with local businesses and organizations.

Notes

Competencies within this course ensure compliance with the National FFA Organization's Federal Charter Amendments Act (Public Law 116-7). Through this legislation, students are provided opportunities for leadership, personal growth, and career success through agricultural education.
