- how the courses students take directly relate to skills and knowledge that create success in a career
- the benefits of education and/or training for career stability and the ability to adapt to changing workforce needs in a global job market
- the need to invest time and money in education and/or training (e.g., personal funds, scholarships, financial aid opportunities like Free Application for Federal Student Aid [FAFSA])
- opportunities available in the local area.
Process/Skill Questions:
- What steps will you take to make your education work for you in terms of creating the career and life you envision for yourself?
- What are examples of classes you will take next year or in high school?
- What is a national board certification test, and how does it factor into postsecondary plans?
- What types of jobs in high school could help you in your career of interest?
- In what ways do additional training and certifications help in a job search?
- Where can you get advanced training for a job?
