Stepping Stones to Success Inservice

The CTE Resource Center has completed a two-part resource guide designed specifically for new teachers. Center staff members are available to come to your local school division and present a Stepping Stones workshop, specifically tailored to the needs of new CTE teachers.

Stepping Stones to Success Teacher to Teacher provides practical tips and useful information for anyone new to the teaching profession. This publication contains excellent resources to implement into instructional practices. User-friendly handouts, a glossary of terms, and a list of useful Web sites are included.

Stepping Stones to Success II Collaboration: Working Together for All Students, the second guide in the series, focuses on the concept of collaboration among teachers, administrators, and parents and includes practical ways to collaborate in both general- and special-education classrooms. The guide features special-education and legal terminology, a glossary of terms that can be used on Individual Education Plans (IEP) and throughout the teaching profession, and a list of resources that teachers can access for further assistance.

Both documents are valuable resources for new teachers, as well as for teachers who need fresh ideas and resources to improve not only their classroom but also in their professional careers.

Center staff has developed a workshop that can run from one to two hours, depending on the local need. For further information or to schedule a workshop in your school division, contact us at 804-673-3778 or info@cteresource.org.
