Career Cluster Employment Statistics Now Available

The Department of Education’s Career Cluster posters have been a popular item since their debut in August. In three months we have delivered more than 3,000 sets to educators throughout Virginia.

In addition, we have received several requests for the posters’ employment statistics to be put into a format useful for presentations to students and parents. Now that information is available to all visitors to our Web site. Through a Word file or a PDF, users can access the “What they make” data that is a feature of each of the 16 career cluster posters. These data include the number employed in Virginia, average salary, and required level of education for a variety of occupations

The source of the 2008 data is the United States Department of Labor’ Bureau of Labor Statistics. For the most recent employment statistics see the Bureau of Labor Statistics’ Employment and Wages from Occupational Employment Statistics (OES) survey database.
