Mark Your Calendar for the
2009 CTE Professional Development Institute
All Career and Technical Education teachers, administrators, and business-industry partners are invited to attend the statewide 2009 CTE Professional Development Institute in Richmond, August 3–7. This week of workshops, national speakers, and hands-on classes is sponsored by the Virginia Department of Education, VACTE, and the program area-specific professional associations. Following the theme “Developing a Bright Future,” a jam-packed schedule of activities is planned for the week. On Tuesday, Aug. 4, Governor Tim Kaine will provide the keynote address at a general session planned for all conference attendees at the Richmond Center. The other days of the Institute will focus on program-oriented meetings at individual conference hotels throughout the city. Although VACTE-SND, VACTE, and VACTEA host conferences at other times during the year, their members will be actively involved in the August institute, with hotel accommodations available to them.
