In this advanced course, students use hands-on applications like designing circuits, smart grids, and gas systems to deepen their knowledge of concepts, laws, and theories related to energy transmission and distribution. Students use and interpret engineering and technical drawings. They explore emerging trends and consider how energy transmission and distribution affect societies and the environment. Contextual instruction and student participation in co-curricular career and technical student organization (CTSO) activities will develop leadership, interpersonal, and career skills. High-quality work-based learning (HQWBL) will provide experiential learning opportunities related to students' career goals and/or interests, integrated with instruction, and performed in partnership with local businesses and organizations.
